Recipe from Festival Foods.
Ingredients:
1 stick softened butter
2 cloves fresh garlic, minced
1 tbls dry red wine
1 tbls fresh chopped herbs (parsley, thyme, rosemary, chives)
1 1/2 pounds ground chuck
1 tbls Worchestershire sauce
Salt and pepper
1 cup crumbled blue cheese
Directions:
Mix first 4 ingredients together. Mix beef and Worchestershire sauce together. Shape into 4 to 6 patties. Season patties with salt and pepper. Pre-heat the grill or a skillet. Grill the burgers for 3 to 5 minutes per side, or until they reach internal temperature of 165 degrees F. Do not press down on the burgers while cooking. Spread some of the butter mixture over the burgers just before taking them on grill. Place a generous amount of bleu cheese on top of each burger. Either cover to melt or place burgers under the broiler for a few seconds to melt the cheese. Serve burgers on split, toasted hamburger buns or hard rolls with lettuce, tomato slices, and mayonnaise if desired.
