If you're planning a wedding, you're probably wondering what will be trendy and hip. There's no denying that 2009 Wedding Trends will be heavily influenced by two things. First, the economy. It seems dreary to be constantly talking about how the economy will impact your life, but fortunately, we're already seeing ways in which a smaller budget has inspired couples to have more creative, intimate, and personal weddings.
These weddings are benefiting from a heavy dose of style, influenced by the many images and ideas circulating around the blogosphere. This chic style will be the second biggest influence this year. Rather than huge weddings, where cost cutting means a lack of details or fun, the 2009 wedding trends are full of fabulous details meant for smaller, affordable weddings.
Here are a few top 2009 wedding trends:
Rustic Settings and Outdoor Events: Venues with natural wood, exposed beams, barn settings with an indoor outdoor option. The natural feel will surely be relaxing and flexible with decor.
Small luxurious weddings: Budgets might be tight, but that doesn’t mean that luxury and glamour are going away. Instead, couples are opting for intimate glamorous affairs. By having fewer guests, they can have more opulent details, like elaborate favors, beautiful wines and gourmet tasting menus. With such a backdrop, it then feels right to be in your tuxedos and gowns, surrounded only by your truest friends and loved ones.
Small Plate/Tapas: Brides and grooms are choosing a variety of food, offered in small plate portions or tapas. This allows much more variety to the menu and the flexible option to pleasing everyone's palate.
Creative Lighting: A way to change the look of a room and add drama is through the use of creative lighting. Lighting can give a warming effect or can give your reception a dramatic theme. Adding shapes and a monogram of the couple can personalize the wedding.
Long Tables: Moving away from the big round banquet style tables, long tables can add drama and completely change the layout of your reception room.
Late Night Snacks: More couples are adding late night goodies to their reception. Coffee or hot chocolate along with cookies or brownies is a warm way to top of the evening. Gourmet popcorn is also an option.
Wedding Logo: An easy and inexpensive way to add style to a wedding is the creation of a wedding logo. This logo can be used from start to finish with save the date cards, invitations, cake logo, and lighting, right down to the final thank you notes sent from the bride and groom.
Photo Booth with or without the Booth: Photo booths are a fun way to get all your guests involved and create some memories with the photos. A photo booth with out the "booth" allows for more people or groups to jump in and have fun.
