We’ve all seen those ultimate wedding shows. You know the ones …
Written by Wedding Day Sourcebook - Welcome to Spring! Flowers are blooming, the grass is finally
getting green and the next few months are busy with local
activities and many are the type that will just make you feel good.
This spring you have an opportunity to renew, recycle, and rejoice
by sharing and giving.
Many people in our area have been touched by the generosity
of the Shriners Hospital for Children in Springfield, MA. The
Shriners Hospitals have been helping thousands of children with
burns, orthopedic conditions, leg and spinal cord injuries and more
since 1922. Unfortunately, economic factors are taking a toll on
this wonderful institution and the need for donations is at an all
time high. Hearing that call and being personally touched by the
good work of the Shriners Hospital, The Finishing Touch Salon and
Spa in South Hadley invite you to the 1st Annual Shriner's Spring
Expo, Bridal & Women's Event on May 17th at Adelphia's Banquets
in South Hadley. They invite you to enjoy a fashion show, dance
demonstrations, mini makeovers and more, all while donating to a
good cause...the Shriners Hospital! A Silent Auction with amazing
items will be available to bid with all proceeds directly donated
to the Shriners. Stop by and support this much needed hospital for
children!
Also beginning this spring, Sutter's Jewelry of Holyoke will
raise awareness of a cure for breast cancer as they host Rise and
Shine, Breakfast at Sutter’s. You'll learn what to look for
in an ideal cut diamond by expert jeweler, James Sutter. Enjoy
breakfast prepared by the Log Cabin and meet gown experts from
Pearl Bridal Boutique. Tickets are just $20 with all proceeds
benefit the Rays of Hope; Walk to Cure Breast Cancer. Call Sutter's
to make a reservation!
And finally; calling all previous bridesmaids...and anyone
else who has a prom or bridesmaids gown just sitting in their
closet, doing nothing. Here's your opportunity to move it out of
your closet, recycle it and give it new life! Springfield Women's
Committee has re-opened the Belle of the Ball Boutique for
prom-goers in the area. They are collecting gently worn gowns to
redistribute throughout the greater Springfield area, so that no
girl gets left behind and unable to attend their prom because they
cannot afford a dress. Dresses in all sizes, length and styles are
needed and can be dropped off at Naomi's Inn, 20 Springfield St. in
Springfield, MA or at NUVO Bank during bank hours or at Mall
Services at Eastfield Mall, Boston Rd. in Springfield, during mall
hours. For more information check
