Hopping hoarders

DUNWOODY, Geor. (WXIA) - There is no such thing as a routine arrest for police officers and an arrest made by Dunwoody, Georgia police is proof.

When officers went to a home to arrest a woman for failure to appear in court on a traffic violation, they found more than they came for. They ended up arresting three people on drug charges and animal cruelty charges.

Three police officers went to the home to arrest Jessica Ly, 42 of Lawrenceville. Ly was hiding in a bedroom and gave police a false identification, according to an incident report. Police also said they found illegal prescription pills.

They also arrested Louis Massood, 47 and Dena Guevara, 48. Massood was also wanted for failure to appear. But that wasn't all. The officers noticed something more alarming.

"When they went in there, they noticed a smell in the house of ammonia or urine smell," Officer Tim Fecht said.

The house was full of rabbits and appeared to be "a hoarding site for rabbits," according to the report.

"They found 77 rabbits that they were able to physically remove from the household," Fecht said.
