Meritor, museum officials to discuss partnership

TROY, Mich. (AP) — Officials from commercial vehicle component supplier Meritor Inc. and suburban Detroit history attraction The Henry Ford plan to travel to New York to discuss an education partnership.

The Troy-based company's Chairman, President and CEO Chip McClure is expected the join The Henry Ford's Chief Learning Officer Paula Gangopadhyay on Monday for International Corporate Philanthropy Day. They'll talk about the Innovation Education Incubator pilot project.

Meritor contributed $100,000 to The Henry Ford to help test the Innovation Education Incubator, which includes bringing digital education resources to classrooms. Forty teachers and 1,000 students from Michigan and several other states participated.

The Henry Ford's Innovation Education Incubator got its start in 2011. One aim is to promote technology and innovation skills.
