SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - The timing of this storm could not have been worse for people who wanted to have some Halloween fun.
Now, both state and local officials are saying it could be too dangerous to trick or treat in some cities and towns because of down power lines and tree limbs.
They are suggesting parents check with their communities to find out where it's safe to go trick or treating.
But, most parents we talked to said they're going to scale back their Halloween traditions.
Amie Letourneau says, “We're going to try to be safe about it. I'm not sure how far they'll go because of the weather because it's so bad.”
If you are going to let your kids go trick or treating, officials say it's important that you accompany them to make sure they're safe.
