Rated  PG-13
1 hour
45 minutes

Starring: Jennifer Lopez, Alex O'Laughlin, Linda Lavin, Anthony Anderson, Tom Bosley

Guess whose back on the big screen better than ever after a long vacation? Jennifer Lopez becomes pregnant and only later finds the man of her dreams in the frothy, romantic comedy, "The Back-Up Plan." Lopez gives a sparkling performance as a very modern woman. She keeps one eye on her career, and the other eye on her biological clock.

You may find the cutesy predicaments a bit hard to swallow unless you relate to her 30 something dilemma, which means women will embrace "The Back-Up Plan."

Alex O'Laughlin isn't just a charter member of the hunk of the month club, but the clincher comes when his charismatic appeal extends into the kitchen.

What's a romantic comedy without the insecure lover having the voice of parental experience like Anthony Anderson guide him over those emotional land mines?

"The Back-Up Plan" actually holds its charming sweetness in reserve. This is a very likable slice of romantic fluff. The stars are supported by familiar faces from a bygone era that should give veteran moviegoers no end of nostalgic pleasure.

The writers have sprinkled this romantic confection with plenty of Sugar and Spice. "The Back-Up Plan" couldn't be any better calibrated to warm and amuse you with 3 stars. With this feel good movie, you won't need a back-up plan.
