SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) -
Name: Frankfurter
Breed: Domestic Short Hair
Age: Three years
Sex: Neutered Male
Color: Brown tabby and white.
Frankfurter had been abandoned by his family but had the good
fortune of venturing into the yard of a Good Samaritan couple.
Frankfurt is a special needs kitty in that he is FIV (Feline
Immunodeficiency Virus) positive. FIV+ kitties can live a long and
happy life but should remain indoor only and be an only cat or live
in a home with another FIV+ cat. FIV is a cat specific virus.
It’s likely that Frankfurt contracted the disease during his
life outdoors.
The family that cared for Frankfurt and brought him to us
described him as being very dignified and affectionate. Frankfurt,
a very large lap cat, would be so happy to become the loving friend
of a human in need of companionship.
