NeNe's "New Normal"

(NBCNC) - NBC's new Tuesday comedy "The New Normal" includes some veteran acting talent including Emmy winner Ellen Barkin, but also in the cast is a relative newcomer to acting: Reality TV star NeNe Leakes.

Leakes first made a name for herself on "The Real Housewives of Atlanta".

More reality show fireworks followed on "Celebrity Apprentice".

Now, it's Leakes unleashed on an acting role on NBC's "The New Normal".

Leakes plays Rocky, the sassy, shopaholic assistant to Ryan, the Hollywood Producer played by Andrew Rannels.

"She's outspoken, she's vivacious, she's fabulous, she loves her gays," Leakes says. "I consider myself to be fabulous, so Rocky definitely has some of NeNe, yes."

For Leakes, her new normal is life with a script.

"These are some of the things that I asked for and prayed for, so to have them come true is a blessing," she says.

In addition to her duties on "Normal", Leakes will also still appear on "Real Housewives", which will soon enter Season 5.

Leakes is the last remaining original cast member on that show.
