(NBCNC) - NBC's new White House based comedy, "1600 Penn" starts its run on Thursday nights this week.

Bill Pullman's not just the president on "1600 Penn", he's also a dad.

Making both jobs tougher is oldest son Skip, the frequent instigator of well intentioned mayhem.

"Book of Mormon" star Josh Gad plays Skip, while Jenna Elfman plays the first lady, an accomplished career woman, but a rookie stepmom.

Among the creators of "1600 Penn" is Mike Lovett, a former speechwriter for the Obama administration.
