It was an evening of world class wine and gourmet food pairings at the New Britain Museum of American Art on Tuesday. Not only did guests take in the brilliance of innovative American artists, but also they had the chance to sample some creative cuisine from some of the best chefs in the region. The gallery was filled with cooking stations showcasing a sample dish from one of the featured restaurants alongside a wine pairing table. Mary Ann Esposito, who hosts one of the longest running national cooking shows, and Robert Irvine, from the Food Network attended the Art of Food and Wine event.
There were over 100 different wines from countries including Spain, New Zealand, and France. The event also featured a live auction where proceeds went to help support the arts. The Art of Food and Wine highlighted the talents of over 20 top chefs from all over the region including here in Western Massachusetts. The owner of Berkshire Bark Chocolate, Kevin Schmitz, told 22 News “the event was a great place to showcase the innovation and hard work of many local chefs, while having guests engage in pairing wine with an assortment of foods.”
