Heavy hazmat rescue

WARREN, Mich. (WDIV) - An ailing 500 lb. woman rescued from a filthy Warren, Michigan apartment is improving according to doctors.

Firefighters clad in haz-mat suits cut through a wall to free the woman from her apartment on Tuesday.

They say she had been bedridden for more than a year following a hip injury and was under the care of her husband.

He's now facing neglect charges.

Four children were removed from the apartment and placed in the care of relatives.
