CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) - Search for a Star Five Finalists Announced

After three weeks of judging, the following individuals have been selected as the five finalists in WWLP's search to find a host of a new, local program airing this spring on WWLP-22News.

  • Meghan Lynn Allen of Springfield
  • Lopez of West Springfield
  • Nate Luscombe of Springfield
  • Alex Miranda of Worcester
  • Ashley Sattler of Holyoke

Over the next week, the five finalists will be asked to go out to various locations and shoot and produce their own stories. On Saturday, April 17, 2010 at 7:30 p.m., WWLP will air a live, half-hour special about the entire audition process. At the end of the program, the hosts and more details about the new program will be revealed.

Two hosts will be selected for the new program. According to Vice President and General Manager Bill Pepin, “Since so many talented people auditioned, we decided we will offer two people full-time employment contracts.”

This process began on March 13, 2010 when open auditions were held. 156 applicants were then narrowed down to 20 and then 10 semi-finalists.

Keep watching 22News and WWLP.com for more information about the final five.
