About Catalyst:
The Catalyst Dancers, in its 15 th year as the pre professional dance company of the Pioneer Valley Performing Arts Charter Public School, has toured the US - from NY, to California, and Miami, to crowd-cheering acclaim. Catalyst has also contributed greatly to public education by performing in schools with their Viewing and Doing program that teaches history, music and literature through dance. The company has trained dancers that have gone on to dance with professional companies and productions such as CATS in New York, The Bill T. Jones and Arnie Zane Dance Company, Lucinda Childs, Ballet Austin, Wally Cardona, Renee Harris Pure Movement, and Disney Tours, received scholarships to dance conservatories such as Julliard, SUNY Purchase, Goucher College, Connecticut College, Ohio State, and University of the Arts, and received scholarships to Summer Stages, Bates Summer, and Hubbard Street Summer intensive. Most recently, in March 2012 at the National High School Dance Festival, two student works were chosen to be performed, and many Catalyst members received scholarships to world-renowned dance programs throughout the country.
