Library Lovers Month: East Longmeadow Public Library

EAST LONGMEADOW, Mass. (Mass Appeal) - It's Library Lovers month and all month long we've been highlighting libraries across Western Mass.

We checked out the East Longmeadow library and spoke with Library Director Susan Peterson who told us how the library is staying up to date with technology. "It is important to always if not stay current, stay a step ahead. One of the first things that the town has done was to make sure that we are totally wireless through out the building. That includes all the open spaces you see here and our two study rooms and two meeting rooms that the public can use.  We have a smaller conference room and a bigger community room. We are totally wireless."

If you don't have time to stop into the library you can still access their digital content right from the palm of your hand! "We launched a whole separate website called The East Longmeadow Public Library E-Branch and on that website it features how to download whatever digital content you're interested in to whatever mobile device you have, whether it's a Kindle, a Nook, a Sony reader or your smartphone, it's a real how to-one stop way to access different ways to get that content that you want," said Peterson.

The East Longmeadow library has something for everyone, from books to DVD's, workshops on e-readers to movie nights with surround sound, just like the theaters!

The library is located at 60 Center Square in East Longmeadow and for more information call (413) 525-5432 or visit EastLongmeadowLibrary.org
