EAST LONGMEADOW, Mass. (Mass Appeal) - More than 2 weeks after Hurricane Sandy ripped through the East Coast, people are still in need of supplies and help.
Geoff Sullivan from Continuum Performance Center in East Longmeadow joined us to share more about their relief effort.
Coming at a time when CPC coaches and subscribers are participating in their annual "Season of Giving", Owner Geoff Sullivan saw this disaster as an opportunity bring aid to a community in need; as the June 1, 2011 tornado and devastation that followed continues to linger on his mind. "It seems completely selfish not to donate our time and physical abilities to those who are in desperate need right now. As the June 1st tornado taught us, there is nothing like that feeling of helplessness and loss. We want to make a difference in this relief effort," Sullivan explains.
Continuum Performance Center will be accepting donations at 18 Maple Court in East Longmeadow until Thursday, Nov. 15th at 7:30pm. Items most needed are:
The CPC crew will drive to Long Beach, New York and distribute the items to hurricane victims. They will also spend the day clearing debris, and assisting neighbors with cleanup efforts.
The Western New England University Men's Lacrosse Team is also stocking CPC's truck with donations of bottled water, batteries, and non-perishable food items.
