About the Ronald McDonald House:
When children are sick and being treated at Springfield area medical facilities, the Ronald McDonald House® is a welcome “home away from home” for children and their families. A dedicated group of volunteers assist a full time House manager to sustain the House. Families have the privacy of their own bedroom and bath and communal support of dining and recreation facilities.
All the comforts of home…
With children in the hospital, motels expensive and distant, families often find themselves sleeping in hospital waiting rooms.
Since January, 1991, when the Ronald McDonald House of Springfield opened its doors, families have been able to travel the short distance from area medical facilities to a comfortable homelike environment. In addition to twenty-two spacious private bedrooms, each with it’s own private bath, families may prepare their meals in the large kitchen and share their experiences in the large dining room, TV room, playroom, laundry room and library.
Families are asked to make a donation of $10 per night, but this may be reduced or waived if necessary.
