AMHERST, Mass. (Mass Appeal) - No longer just the hobby of grandmothers, quilting is becoming popular across all generations. Rebecca Fricke, Quilt artist and owner of Bedscape Designs joins us this morning to give us all a lesson in quilting 101.
Rebecca sells her own quilts and takes commissions based on scenes and color schemes.
Rebecca can turn a landscape of your choice into a unique art quilt for your bedroom, couch or wall. Perfect for collectors and for wedding, anniversary and birthday gifts.
If you are interested in seeing Rebecca's collection of quilted cards and table runners not shown on this website please contact her to arrange a visit to her studio.
Rebecca Fricke is a self-taught quilter who took up needle and thread twelve years ago. She is inspired by both traditional and art quilting and she is especially impressed by the colors and designs of the Gee's Bend quilters of Alabama. Often Rebecca's quilt designs are based on the natural world—landscapes, flowers, trees and water. Rebecca uses irregular patterns, edges and stitching. The quilts are giant canvases, the layers of cloth are large brush strokes and the fine detail is in the stitching.
