EASTHAMPTON, Mass. (Mass Appeal) - Ah, Spring. The days are getting longer and we're all eager to get outside. While you're chasing your dog around the yard or unpacking your warm weather clothes, chances are your home could use a little attention after the long winter. Keith Woodruff , the KW of KW Homes offers some tips to spruce up your home!
It's important to address details and especially in Spring, we're wanting to get outside, but it's nice to do Spring cleanup and everything else, spruce up, and add newer details to bring life to the environment. It's about adding details and elements that are personalizing our homes about who we are as people and how we live, and that way it brings that detail to the home, and when you have guests to your house, they are able to get a feeling of who you are, as opposed to, like a showroom environment that tends to be impersonal space.
It's not necessary to spend a lot of money. I'm seeing as a trend, as we're coming out of the recession, is people are spending more time thinking about their environment, taking the time before they make the purchase, and possibly investing in nicer-quality goods for their home that will last longer.
Change out accent pieces in your environment can change your attitude and outlook on your day-to-day living. We get stuck in a rut in our homes through winter and everything, it can be depressing. Even to move a grouping and to change the layout of the room sometimes is important. It gives us just a change of environment.
Changing out area rugs, wall color, adding a fresh coat of paint, giving it a different look that way. You can setting by just changing out the throw pillow, accent pillows. That's just an easy way to infuse a little bit of color in to your house. I tend to recommend more neutral pallets for the wall colors and the furniture pieces, those are more the larger investment pieces, and then it's less expensive and easy to change it out when you come to the accent pillows and things.
It's Spring 2011, and there is a royal wedding coming. It just gets in to everything. An indian recycled fabrics coverlet that is available in the design of the union jack, which is right on theme for the wedding. It's recycled materials as well. So that's a whole other trend.
