SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (Mass Appeal) - Meet Mass Appeal's pet of the week!

Name: Kanika
Breed: Labrador Retriever Mix
Age: 4 Years Old
Sex: Spayed Female
Color: Black

About Kanika:

I am a very happy, energetic dog! I absolutely love playing with dogs, people, and toys. I will keep you laughing the whole time we play. I will climb right up in your lap and nuzzle you to pet me more. I would be great with older children because I am very rambunctious and can get jumpy.  I might bowl over an itty-bitty.  I still have to learn my leash skills.  I tend to pull hard when walking but the good news is I get a discount on training classes with my adoption. I am a Dixie dog, I came from an overcrowded Southern shelter because I have would have a better chance finding a home here.  I was in the shelter for a while (since September) and a black dog.    In Texas, that was two strikes against me.  I am happy to be here where my sweetness will not be overlooked and I will go home.

And what better way to begin life in a new home than with Dakin training classes! January is National Train Your Dog Month. Dakin is offering all new training classes in addition to specialty classes that are guaranteed to be fun and educational for pups and their people.  Classes are offered at Dakin in Springfield and Dave’s Soda & Pet City in Hadley. More information and easy registration is available online www.dpvhs.org .
