CHICOPEE, Mass. (Mass Appeal) - We've all heard that exercising is essential to staying healthy, but as soon as the cold weather hits, it seems much harder to stay on track with our fitness goals. Here to get us out of hibernation and give us some exercising tips for the winter is Baystate Medical Director and Sports Medicine Specialist, Dr. Julio Martinez.
Exercising during the winter can be fun if one takes extra precautions to be safe outside in the cold temperatures. Dr. Martinez offers tips on how to stay hydrated, avoid frostbite, and remind us all that yes, Mom was right, wearing a hat prevents losing body heat and getting sick.
