CHICOPEE, Mass. (Mass Appeal) - Nothing we eat is 100 percent safe, but there are simple steps you can take in the kitchen that can reduce your risk of getting sick. Sue Perry, Deputy Editor of ShopSmart, shared some food storage and cleaning tips that can cut your chances of getting you or your family sick.
 

Tips for Keeping Your Food Safe

  • Wash produce before you eat it
  • Wash fruits and veggies even if they have a rind
  • Keep prepared produce cold until serving time
  • Throw away leftovers after two hours
  • Lower the grocery bill shop for fruits and veggies more often
