NORTHAMPTON, Mass. (Mass Appeal) - Drum circles are popping up all over the place right here in western Mass. This one also helps support a good cause. Check out the Sisters in Conversation through the waves of Rhythm.

We decided to co-create a woman's, ongoing women's community drum circle in the Northampton area. We come together once a month on the third Friday. We play for two hours. Then we donate the money to the local women's charities.

Drumming is my passion. The women who come, that is also, their passion. We also have singing and we have percussion and dancing. Women come together and they learn together and to create and to encourage each other. We have a great time. We leave there having such a good time. We all have smiles on the face and doing a good thing at the same time.

The drum is made out of wood from Africa and goat skin. For those who are shy about using animal skin, they also have a regular film, manufactured film.
