Six Flags Blood Drive at Fright Fest

AGAWAM, Mass. (Mass Appeal) - The American Red Cross and Six Flags New England are teaming up to host a blood drive tomorrow, Friday, September 28th. American Red Cross Spokesperson Jecoliah Ellis joined us to share more about the drive.


Six Flags Blood Drive at Fright Fest

  • Friday, September 28, 2012
    Noon - 6:00PM
     
  • Six Flags New England Human Resources Center
    1756 Main Street in Agawam
     
  • All presenting blood donors will receive a free one-day pass to Fright Fest, courtesy of Six Flags New England and a collectable Red Sox t-shirt. Prizes are not redeemable for cash and non-transferable.


Every two seconds someone in the U.S. needs blood.  You never know when a friend, family member, or co-worker or even you will need blood.  Each unit of donated blood may help save up to three lives.  Donated blood is used to help accident victims, trauma patients, transplant recipients, and those receiving treatment for life-threatening illnesses.

All current eligible and new donors can schedule an appointment to donate blood by calling 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767) or visiting redcrossblood.org .


Eligible Blood Donors:

  • Individuals who are at least 17 years of age (16 with parental permission in Massachusetts)
  • Must weigh at least 110 pounds and are in generally good health may be eligible to donate blood.
  • High school students and donors 18 years of age and younger also have to meet certain height and weight requirements. 
  • Identification is required at the time of donation.
