GREENFIELD, Mass. (Mass Appeal) - Creating an appealing eating environment might help you more than you think. Tanya Hart from Root Wellness and Nutrition came on Mass Appeal to show us how changing 'how' we eat can change us for the better.

Tanya's Tips:

  • When you're turned on by food, you turn on metabolism: Make sure you enjoy what you're eating, and where you are when you're eating.
  • Relax and burn calories: Calm down before eating to stimulate digestion & metabolism (more oxygen = more calories burned).
  • More awareness = less appetite = less weight. The slower you eat and the more you chew, the more aware you'll be when you're full. End of overeating!
  • When you eat, eat: No more multitasking. 30-40% of the total digestive response is due to our full awareness of what we're eating.
