CHICOPEE, Mass. (Mass Appeal) - Summertime means hotdogs and hamburgers and theres no better topping than a homemade topping.
Maddie Elling who works with Hosta Hill Provisions showed us how we can make sauerkraut.
Sauerkraut
Ingredients:
- Local or Organic Green Cabbage
- Salt
- Large mouth jar & cap
Directions:
- Peel outer leaves of cabbage
- Core and slice thinly
- Mix in salt
- Pack and cap
- Let ferment, crack occasionally
