Two towns select a new member of the board

(WWLP) - Belchertown has one new member of the Board of Selectmen. Political newcomer, retired West Springfield High School teacher Kenneth Elstein was the top vote-getter in a 3-way race for two seats on the Belchertown board. Elstein unseated incumbent Gerald Grasso. 2nd place was good enough for Ronald Aponte to hold onto his seat on the board.
16 percent of Belchertown's voters cast ballots.

Close to 16% of Granby's registered voters cast ballots in Tuesday's Select Board elections. Local Teacher Mark Bail came out on top in a three- way race for a three year term. The Select Board Race was the only contested contest on the ballot. According to Granby Town Clerk Katherine Kelly-Regan, Bail will fill a seat left vacant by a retiring selectman.
