CHICOPEE, Mass (WWLP) - State Secretary William Galvin is warning investors not to let the spirit of the season lead them into risky investment schemes.

Galvin says while it is the season of goodwill and generosity, it is also the time of year when criminals aggressively seek to exploit that spirit.

He suggests before investing any money, call the Massachusetts Securities Division to learn more about the salesperson and the investment product being offered for sale.
