CHICOPEE, Mass (WWLP) - A new service in Chicopee is helping people deal with unique challenges.

Caregiver Homes hosted an open house at their new offices on Center Street. The program promoted elder foster care. Finding private residences where a qualified caregiver provides housing and personalized care for a senior or disabled adult, who otherwise may face placement in a nursing home.

"It was them I think that gave me the strength or more strength to do what I'm doing. It was the support of all these people who came came."

Caregiver Homes pays family members up to $18,000 per year to care for disabled adults at home.
