WATERBURY, Conn. (AP) - Waterbury police say a man they were seeking in connection with
a murder was arrested at an airport in Florida, where he planned to
get on a plane bound for his native Guyana.
Authorities from several law enforcement agencies arrested
26-year-old Parasurama Rabindranauth on Wednesday at Miami-Dade
International Airport. They say he had booked a 10:40 a.m. flight
to Guyana in South America.
Police had been looking for Rabindranauth since last
Saturday, when 38-year-old Michael Sembhudyal was shot to death in
his Waterbury home.
Police say Rabindranauth dated Sembhudyal's cousin for six
years before splitting up, which led to an ongoing dispute and the
shooting.
Rabindranauth faces a murder charge. He could return to
Connecticut as soon as Friday if he waives extradition.
