PITTSFIELD, Mass. (AP) - An admitted former drug-addicted doctor has been permitted to continue treating patients as chief of staff at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield.

The Associated Press reports that Dr. Robert Wespiser started taking painkillers for a broken leg.

Wespiser allegedly admits being addicted to painkillers and writing fake prescriptions when his supply ran out.
