SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - Police say a man was shot on Allen Street during a gang dispute
on Friday morning.
According to a news release from Springfield Police Sgt. John
Delaney, police were called to the area of 1 Allen Street for
reports of shots fired around 9:45 a.m.
When police arrived, the found a 19 year-old man with gunshot
wounds to the back and abdomen. He was listed in critical, but
stable condition but, according to Sgt. Delaney, the suspect is
expected to recover.
Police are now looking for teal-colored 2000 Chevrolet Malibu
with four black males inside, according to the news release.
Azell Cavaan, spokesperson for Springfield Schools, told
22News that Brookings School was locked down for about one hour
after the shooting.
