LITCHFIELD, Conn. (AP) - A judge has sentenced two men to 10 years in prison for causing about $2 million in damage in a rampage in northwestern Connecticut that included house fires, vandalism and a blaze that destroyed a curling club's ice rink.

Kyle Majewski of Sandisfield, Mass., and Matthew Carey of Torrington also were sentenced on Thursday to five years of probation.

Both men had pleaded guilty to arson, burglary and other charges related to the Dec. 19, 2011, fires and vandalism in Norfolk.

The 20-year-old Carey told Litchfield Superior Court Judge James Ginocchio and others in the courtroom that he blamed his use of drugs and alcohol. ,

The judge rejected alcohol being blamed. He said the violence ended only because Majewski crashed his car.

Majewski, who also is 20, apologized.
