Man stabbed during home invasion

Danbury police are searching for suspects who beat and stabbed a 24-year-old man during a home invasion.

Authorities have not released the name of the victim, who was taken to Danbury Hospital Sunday night.

Police say he was hit several times with a baseball bat and stabbed once in the lower back. His condition wasn't clear.

A neighbor says he saw a woman and man who both appeared to be in their 20s running away from an adjacent unit at the Village Square Apartments.

He says the woman was carrying a bat and the man was carrying a machete.

The neighbor says a third person was waiting in a van, and the three fled the scene. No arrests have been made.
