Accidental shooting reported in Ashford

ASHFORD, Conn. (AP) — State police are responding to a reported accidental shooting in Ashford.

Troopers were called to Cotswold Drive at about 8 a.m. Monday. The street is in a residential neighborhood near the intersection of routes 44 and 74.

A state police spokeswoman couldn't immediately provide details of the incident or whether anyone was injured.

Authorities initially called a medical helicopter to the scene but canceled the request.
