Ex-Conn. man charged in autographed photos fraud

STAMFORD, Conn. (AP) — A former Connecticut man has been extradited back to the state to face charges that he never delivered autographed photos of Prince Charles and Lady Diana that he sold to a New York resident in 1998.

The Advocate of Stamford reports (http://bit.ly/16rx3QI ) that 46-year-old Luis Rodriguez was arraigned on a third-degree larceny charge Monday at Stamford Superior Court. He was also charged with stealing thousands of dollars from a Stamford spa in 2006.

Southampton, N.Y., resident Thomas Gregory told police in 1998 that he paid Rodriguez $2,400 for the autographed photos but never received them. That led to a years-long search for Rodriguez.

Rodriguez eventually was found at a Virginia prison. It wasn't immediately clear why he was there.

A message was left with Rodriguez's public defender Wednesday.
