Norwich police: 3 dead in car crash

NORWICH, Conn. (AP) — Norwich police say three people have died after a car carrying five hit a tree on Route 2 in Norwich.

The accident Wednesday morning closed the road for about four hours.

Police said one person was dead at the scene, and two others died of their injuries after being taken to a hospital.

Two others were seriously injured.

Police did not immediately release the names of those involved.
