MANCHESTER, Conn. (WTNH) - Connecticut's own groundhog Chuckles says spring is coming early this year.

Around 6:45 this morning Chuckles came out of her home at the  Lutz Children's Museum in Manchester to declare "Winter is canceled this year. Spring is here." That translation from groundhog-speak to English came via Manchester's mayor.

Shouting out "Good Morning Connecticut" to the children, other guests and photographers at the event, and cheered on the New England Patriots, which may not sit too well with Giants fans. Both teams play in the Super Bowl this coming Sunday.
