MONROE, Conn. (AP) - Connecticut authorities say a 12-year-old girl has been injured after being ejected from a speed boat on Lake Zoar in Monroe.
State Department of Environmental Protection spokesman Dennis Schain says the girl, who is from Naugatuck, suffered a gash on her leg from the boat's propeller Friday afternoon.
He said the injury isn't considered life-threatening. She was taken to Bridgeport Hospital.
Schain said the girl had been serving as a spotter for someone on a tube that was being towed by the boat. He said she apparently fell out when the boat turned into a wake at about 4 p.m.
