NEWTOWN, Conn. (AP) - Connecticut lawmakers have voted unanimously to create a new fund that will help workers traumatized by the school massacre in Newtown.

The Sandy Hook Workers Assistance Fund will cover uncompensated leave and expenses for those suffering from mental or emotional impairment after the December 14th shooting.

Members of both chambers of the General Assembly say it's a small way they can help those who experienced such a horrific event.

The fund should be fully operational April 1st.
