EAST WINDSOR, Conn. (WWLP) - Federal authorities raided a gun shop in East Windsor, Connecticut where the Newtown shooter's mother bought a gun several years ago.

Police and ATF agents raided Riverview Gun Sales on Thursday. The reason for the raid was unclear, but it apparently was not the result of a single incident or complaint.

The owner is David LaGuercia of Agawam. He issued a statement on Wednesday confirming that he sold one gun to Nancy Lanza, and he was "appalled" it may have been used to kill children.

LaGuercia said that he is cooperating with authorities.
