NORWICH, Conn. (WTNH) - Homeland Security agents and state police intercepted a package containing liquid cocaine that was shipped from Peru to an apartment in Norwich.
The packaged headed to 23 Pearl Street in Norwich contained 8 bottles of hand lotion, each filled with small, plastic bags of liquid cocaine.
Police say there was about 1.7 kilograms of liquid cocaine in the 8 bottles.
Officers executed a controlled delivery and the package was accepted at the home of 28-year-old Janice Gomez.
Officers determined a juvenile was home during the time the package was delivered and notified DCF.
Gomez was arrested and charged with possession of cocaine over one ounce, possession of cocaine with intent to sell over one ounce, and risk of injury.
