WINDSOR LOCKS, Conn. (WWLP) - People picking up passengers at Bradley International Airport now have a new, free place to wait.
On Tuesday, Bradley opened a “cell phone waiting lot,” a feature at many U.S. airports that provides a place to wait for arriving passengers to call. It’s an alternative to having to pay for parking in the short-term lot, or waiting for a long time at the arrivals area.
The lot will be located on Light Lane, which is near the intersection of Route 75 and Shoephoester Road. It’s about a two to three minute drive from the arrivals area.
A cell phone waiting lot has been requested by Bradley customers for a while now, and Mary Ellen Jones, Chair of the Connecticut Airport Authority, says that this is in response to those requests.
“We are committed to enhancing our stakeholders’ total travel experience at Bradley International Airport,” Jones said in a statement sent to 22News.
The lot, which airport officials say will be secure and well-lit, is equipped a QR code that drivers can use to connect to Bradley flight arrival information.
