GLASTONBURY, Conn. (WTNH) - Police in Glastonbury are investigating after multiple suspects used a dump truck and pay loader to steal an ATM from a local bank.
The incident happened just before 1 a.m. Sunday, at TD Bank, located at 730 Hebron Ave.
Upon arrival, officers discovered that the mounted exterior ATM had been removed and stolen.
Investigation revealed that multiple suspects had stolen a dump truck from a local business, and stole a pay loader from a construction site in the vicinity of the bank.
Police said the dump truck and the pay loader were both driven back to the bank. Utilizing the pay loader, the ATM was ripped out. The ATM was then removed in the dump truck, and the pay loader was left at the scene.
On Monday, the ATM was found at the city of Hartford Landfill on Liebert Road.
Police said the ATM had been smashed and partially buried, and the cash had been removed.
Later in the day Monday, police recovered the dump truck in a wooded area between the landfill and Riverside Park in Hartford.
The suspects stole an undetermined amount of cash from the ATM.
Anyone with information or who might have observed suspicious activity around the date/time of the theft are asked to call Sgt. Michael Furlong at 860-633-8301.
