NEWTOWN, Conn. (WWLP) - Many people across New England are trying to help in any way they can, and for one man from West Hartford, that meant sharing his mother’s poem with Newtown residents.

The special poem called “ Woman of Valor” talks about heroic women with outstanding beauty and knowledge.

David Hoff, who brought the poem to Newtown, told 22News that when he first heard about the tragedy, his heart broke. So, he wanted to share these comforting words with the grieving town.

He told 22News that the tragedy impacted him deeply, saying that he was “crying and just very sad. It just felt like the end of the world in a way,” Hoff said.

Many people from other Connecticut towns also went to Newtown on Monday to leave flowers and candles in memory of the victims.
