Pure heroin, guns seized from apartment

HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) - A Hartford man was arrested after narcotics and guns were seized from his apartment Wednesday.

Just before 6 p.m., police executed a narcotics-related search and seizure warrant at 19 Norwich St., 3rd floor apartment 5.

Upon arrival, police found two juveniles inside the residence. A short time later two adults were also located inside the apartment.

Police seized two grams of pure heroin, numerous items of drug packaging materials including scales, strainer, pestle grinder, cutting agents and an identifying packaging stamp.

Additionally, police seized four handguns and one shot gun, extra gun magazines, 164 rounds of ammunition, and $900.

According to police, Department of Children and Families was notified and is conducting their own investigation.

Juan C. Rodriguez, of 19 Norwich St., was charged with operating a drug factory, possession of narcotics, possession of narcotics with intent to sell, possession of narcotics within 1,500' of a school, altering firearms, and two counts of risk of injury to a minor.

Rodriguez is being held on a $500,000 bond.
