Sobriety checkpoints in Enfield, CT

ENFIELD, Conn. (WWLP) - Police in Enfield, Connecticut will be conducting multiple sobriety checkpoints on Friday.

Sgt. Charles Grasso told 22News the checkpoints will be held between 6:00PM - 3:00AM.

They'll be established along Rt. 220 (Elm Street), Rt. 190 (Hazard Avenue), Rt. 5, and other area roadways.

In a news release sent to 22News the Enfield Police said, "It is the goal of the Enfield Police Department, in partnership Metro Traffic Services to prevent any tragedies this holiday season as well as throughout the year."

Each year, about 22,000 people die in DUI-related accidents.
