WATERTOWN, Conn. (AP) - A Wolcott man police say was connected to the rape of two teen girls by DNA evidence is being held on $500,000 bond.
Gani Demiroski appeared in Waterbury Superior Court on Monday for his alleged involvement in the rape of a 17-year-old girl in Watertown in June and a 16-year-old girl in Thomaston in November. He was ordered to have no contact with the victims.
WFSB-TV reports that a request to lower Demiroski's $500,000 bail was denied and he remained in jail Monday.
The 21-year-old pizza delivery driver was arrested Friday while working for his family's restaurant. He was held over the weekend on charges of first-degree sexual assault, second-degree kidnapping and third-degree assault.
Each victim was attacked from behind while walking.
Demiroski's father told The Republican-American that he was "shocked" by the allegations.
