SALISBURY, Conn. (AP) - Connecticut state police say a body has been found in the Housatonic River is a teen who has been missing for a week.

State police say the body was found in the river just before 8 a.m. Tuesday. Lt. J. Paul Vance says they have confirmed the victim as 16-year-old Kaelon Paton of Sharon.

He was swept away while trying to rescue a friend from the fast moving waters of the rain-swollen river in Salisbury last Tuesday afternoon.

Paton was a freshman at Housatonic Valley Regional High School.

State police say Paton and some friends had gone swimming to celebrate the start of summer after their last day of school.
