MERIDEN, Conn. (AP) - The Connecticut medical examiner's office has ruled the death of
a 23-month-old Meriden boy a homicide by blunt force trauma to his
abdomen.
State officials and city police say Pedro Garcia III's
family members called authorities Tuesday to report that he was
unresponsive.
The boy was pronounced dead at MidState Medical Center later
that day. No arrests have been made, and police declined to
release any other details.
Meriden police and officials with the state Department of
Children and Families are investigating.
